Dr Dabber Aurora Vaporizer Review

With a growing number of states legalizing medical marijuana, the number of people on the lookout for a good vaporizer is beginning to grow. Since a higher potency tends to mean a higher level of treatment, many of those new patients are seeking out wax for their vaporizers, as that delivers more of a kick than marijuana in leaf form. Like every style of vape device out there, you have a pretty large selection to choose from when it comes to wax vape pens. We will, over the course of time, try to take a look at as many of these vaporizers as possible, but for now let’s begin with the very cool named Dr. Dabber Aurora Vaporizer. This particular is by all accounts one of the best vaporizers of its kind on the market, so let’s test that theory out.

Getting to know the Dr. Dabber Aura

Portability – If it’s portability and discretion you are looking for, then this is the vape pen for you. The size is actually more akin to an electronic cigarette, and it is lightweight and thin enough to
easily slip into any pocket or purse.

Ease of Use – Many wax vaporizers will start to clog up after repeated use, but not this one. There is only a single button to operate on the Dr. Dabber, but it does come with a number of features that may deliver a bit of a learning curve for newbies.

Power Source – The Aura is powered by a variable voltage battery that makes it easy for you to select different temperature settings. Battery length and recharging time are about average for this type of device.

Prep Time – Loading the material is easy because of the fact that you don’t have to unscrew a number of different components. All the pieces are held together magnetically, making prep time very quick indeed.

Temperature Settings – There are 3 distinct temperature settings on the Aura, which is not necessarily something you see with this type of vaporizer. The majority of models usually only come with 1 setting. This device uses the conduction heat method for vaporization.

Vapor Quality – This device comes with a trio of different atomizers, and all three deliver a quality of vapor that is both consistent and potent. The vapor clouds will depend on which of the three you use, so be prepared to experiment a little to get the flavor and cloud levels best suited to you.

Pricing – The $100 price tag puts the Dr. Dabber a little higher in price than similar models, but you most certainly get what you pay for with this one, thanks to the number of features.

Guarantee – Perhaps the biggest downside of the Aura is that it only comes with a 90-day warranty, which puts it pretty far behind its competitors.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • Magnetic components make this device easy to pull apart and put together
  • Quality build with quartz lined chambers and a ceramic mouthpiece
  • 3 unique atomizers included
  • No clogging makes this one easy to maintain
  • Great flavor and consistent potency
Cons
  • Less than impressive warranty
  • Cloud sizes may not be as big as you like
  • Not the easiest vaporizer to use for newbies

PAX 2 Vaporizer Review

When it comes to vaporizers, everyone has an opinion as to which one is the best on the market. Since this is something that often comes down to personal preference, it’s tough to say that one person’s opinion means more than another. That said, when you have a rather large group of vape lovers proclaiming that one particular device is better than the rest, you have to actually sit up and take notice. The one herb vape that gets a lot of love in the industry is the Pax 2 Vaporizer, which is made by Ploom. This is a device that is pretty well up there in terms of pricing, which makes you wonder if the hype and the price are actually justified. Let’s take a closer look at the Pax 2 to see if we can answer those questions.
Getting to know the Pax 2 Vaporizer

Portability – This is a device that embodies portability, as it is small enough to slip into any pocket. Better yet, the mouthpiece can be stored inside the lid to ensure that no debris gets in there while you are on the move.

Ease of Use – The Pax 2 is incredibly easy to use right out of the box, but there is a caveat that comes with that statement. The unit is designed to be great for both long and short draws, but that all falls apart if the interior screen becomes clogged. Clean this one regularly if you want to get the best out of it.

Power Source – There is good and bad in this department. The good is that the 90-minute usage time on a full charge is excellent, while the bad is that it takes about 3 hours to fully charge.

Prep Time – This is one weed vaporizer that is easy to load up, and it also reaches your chosen temperature in no time at all.

Temperature Settings – Speaking of temperatures, there are 4 different settings available, which is also another plus for this particular vaporizer.

Vapor Quality – You are always pretty much guaranteed big clouds with the Pax 2, but the quality may diminish the longer you use it in a single sitting.

Pricing – This may be a vaporizer that is only for those who are serious about vaping, as the $280 price tag is sure to scare off a lot of newbies. This is a device where you actually get what you pay for, though.

Guarantee – You can see that the price tag is worth it when you see the 10-year guarantee that Ploom offers on this. That’s a whole lot longer than you get with other portable vaporizers.
Pros and Cons

  • ·         Long and short draw options
  • ·         Great vapor quality and potency, especially at the start of each session
  • ·         Design and size make it very portable
  • ·         Easy to use right out of the box

Cannabis Sales & Tax income - Colorado News

Once the holiday season has passed, there is an expectation that retail sales will dip, regardless of what is being sold. That belief has once again proven to be true in Colorado, where marijuana sales have dropped a little after what was a record-breaking month in December. The January sales figures were just recently released, and both recreation and medical marijuana sales took a little drop over the previous month, which was what industry experts pretty much expected. All of that said, the sales figures for January are still on the brink of being staggering, and prove that marijuana is more than just a passing fad.

All told, marijuana dispensaries in Colorado tallied $88 million in sales in the month of January. Those sales figures include weed, as well as vaporizers and other accessories. That number includes $56.5 million in recreational marijuana related sales, and a further $32 million in medical goods. Overall, there was a 9% sales dip from the previous month of December 2015, but it has to be remembered that you likely had a situation where gifts, such as vape pens, were purchased in greater numbers, and that a number of regular users were probably stocking up on their supplies for the holiday period. Vaporizers and other accessories account for about 3% of all the money earned.

With those types of numbers now becoming commonplace, there are a lot of people who are benefitting from the money being pulled in. The legalization of marijuana was largely sold as being a major tax boost for the state, and it is certainly living up to that billing. During the phase when pro-marijuana groups were pushing for legalization, a major part of the promise to taxpayers was that the first $40 million in excise taxes collected from marijuana sales would go towards school construction. It now looks increasingly likely that the multi-million-dollar promise is going to be delivered at some point this year, assuming that sales continue at their current rate.

Since marijuana sales were legalized in Colorado, the sales figures have climbed at a rather steady pace, which is why there is confidence that the $40 million will be hit later this year. The first full years of sales in 2014 saw marijuana sales hit the $699 million mark, with that number growing to $996 million in 2015. It is not just marijuana itself that is driving these figures, as vape pens and other mobile vaping devices are now the first choice for many marijuana users.

All of this is very good news for other states who are on the fence about introducing marijuana legalization. None of the things that scaremongers suggested would happen have come to pass, and the taxes being raised through sales are proving to be a real boon for areas of government that are constantly looking for more tax money. It’s ironic that education would be one of the big winners in all of this, as it was people educating themselves about the benefits of marijuana who helped make legislation possible in the first place.

Cannabis Alternatives Recall

People who argue against vaporizer pens and their safety will often cite a lack of checks on the quality of substances being vaped as a sign that the industry needs stricter controls. That argument was pretty much deemed invalid recently when recalls of vape pen oils were called for in Colorado. In fact, there have been 13 separate recalls in the space of 13 weeks, which has to be viewed as a sign that people are paying attention to the quality of the cannabis products being delivered to the masses. If anything, this is a great argument for legislation of marijuana, as it becomes more difficult for inferior products to slip through the cracks.

The most recent recall was done by a company called Advanced Medical Alternatives, as they believed that 27 cartridges of their vape pen oil may have contained pesticides that cannot legally be used on cannabis in the state of Colorado. This is the second such recall by this company, which is being viewed by cannabis advocates as a sure sign that the product making it to market in Colorado are indeed being scrutinized for safety and quality. If the legalization of marijuana is to spread across the country, it has to be clearly seen that the industry is being operated in a professional manner.

The City of Denver Department of Environmental Health (DEH) has been behind all 13 of the vape pen oil recalls that have taken place over the past few weeks. Inspections have really stepped up since the legalization of marijuana, but with the increased demand and production, there are going to be some cases that slip through the cracks. For their part, Advanced Medical Alternatives have said that they are going to implement a better testing process so that the quality of their products is as good as expected.
What people have to remember is that the legalized marijuana industry is still very much in its infancy, and pesticide regulations are still not clear to many growers. It should be noted that there have been zero reports of medical issues arising as a result of using vape pen cannabis oils containing pesticides, which means that all of this may be more alarmist than actually physically damaging. These are problems that will be addressed and fixed, and the number of companies who are not in full compliance with the current pesticide regulations is actually very, very small.

If you want to learn more about this recall, you can get more information from the DenverDEH website. The Cannabist online magazine is also doing a great job of keeping everyone up to date on the recalls, but what you will find is that the vast majority of the products out there are pesticide free and safe to use. This really shouldn’t be considered a reason to worry, so get your vaporizer pen out, fire it up, and relax.
